Unfortunately ReadAlaska is suspended until further notice.
ReadAlaska is Alaska’s largest book fair and was held Friday & Saturday following Thanksgiving as part of the Polar Bazaar (previously called Crafted in Alaska Weekend) at the Anchorage Museum. This annual event began in 1993 as an opportunity for Alaskans to obtain their favorite Alaska books direct from the publishers and authors.
The event had grown and typically 25-to 30 publishers and authors brought hundreds of Alaska-themed books for your review and purchase. Authors were available to talk about their work and sign books. Publishers brought their latest releases and also offered special discounts and sales on selected items.
Polar Bazaar was an outstanding event and also includes approximately 30 Alaska artisans offering their finest jewelry, woodworking, metalwork, textiles, art and photography. Entrance fees to the museum were waived for the weekend and a variety of food, fun and music awaits. We do not know if this event will return, if ever.
