At the Anchorage Museum
ReadAlaska is Alaska’s largest book fair and is held Friday & Saturday following Thanksgiving as part of the Polar Bazaar (previously called Crafted in Alaska Weekend) at the Anchorage Museum. This annual event began in 1993 as an opportunity for Alaskans to obtain their favorite Alaska books direct from the publishers and authors.
The event has grown and now typically 20-to 30 publishers bring hundreds of Alaska-themed books for your review and purchase. Authors will be available to talk about their work and sign books. Publishers bring their latest releases and also offer special discounts and sales on selected items.
Polar Bazaar is an outstanding event and also includes approximately 30 Alaska artisans offering their finest jewelry, woodworking, metalwork, textiles, art and photography. Entrance fees to the museum are waived for the weekend and a variety of food, fun and music awaits.
